This past weekend my family and I made a trip to Elko, NV to visit my in-laws and to celebrate my MIL's birthday! Elko is 4 hours East of Reno and truth be told its the most boring stretch of I-80 i've ever been on. Nevada is not a scenic state and the sagebrush filled desert gets boring after 20min! I snapped a few images with my iPhone to help pass the time...I do have to point out that Nevada is not this green, the green color is a fun little filter from an app on my iPhone :-)

After a long 4 hours in the car we finally made it and the kids had such a blast seeing Nana and Papa! We had cake, played at the park and generally disrupted the peace and quite of Nana and Papa's house! HA!

I think NV is a gorgeous state!! It's just... really big with not a lot in it. ;) There is a wonderful photo journal book called Earthtones by Ann Ronald (Nevadan) that shows the beautiful surprising colors of the state. I bet you would love it as a photographer! :)
